re the aids thing. i also heard say that in some parts of africa catholic aid missions are giving out leaflets saying don't use condoms because they can get a hole in.

besides the fact that surely 0.5% hole is better than 100% hole, thats just SO wrong. They are meant to be helping.
Nice to meet you, by the way. i enjoyed reading you stuff.
Keep it up ...

Sorry for posting an off topic question here but I think this particular one has a profound impact on our society.

The Pope says “Harry Potter corrupts the young, distorting their understanding of the battle between good and evil”. In a way, he is saying “Harry is Evil, Potter is Satan!”

Well, we know orthodox Christians also despise Uncle Santa Claus and all those at DisneyWorld, do you fancy a world without Cinderella, Snow White and Mr. Mickey Mouse?
That is the oppossite of what Live 8 demanded. yet the G8 claim they gave us what we asked for. If you want to see how they manufactured consent for globalization, see my blog. Keep up the good fight.

In response to:What a Difference a Day Makes #2 for Make Poverty History

I'm glad you care. I thought you might be interested in my blog. It addresses the issue of Fair trade, in the context of G8 propaganda. Did you know Bob Geldof (Live 8) was being used by Tony Blair (G8)? Blair put Geldof on his African commission to make the G8 free trade plans look good.

In response to:Make Poverty History

You have put into words what many of us consider developing countries need. Unfortunately some governments depend on the votes of their massively subsidised electorates to return them to power e.g. French farmers subs, and how about EU rebates for the UK? Doubling aid to African countries could be just another 'one-off'.
